6 WHAT NEW TECHNOLOGIES HAVE YOU USED?

NEW TECHNOLOGIES

RESEARCH -

Pinterest is a versatile, easy-to-navigate online pin board tool that displays visuals and text linked to websites. I created Pinterest which helped us to collect together a series of images for the mise-en-scene and characters and clearly laid all the information out.

  • Media Magazine- I found it very useful for learning about the media industry. I used it for looking into the Hunger Games.

Twitter helped me to look at what films are coming out, and is a main way in which companies produce a hype for there upcoming film. Twitter is also extremely useful for getting new information quickly, it easily gets subjects trending using the hashtag. There are various people I follow such as Pete Frazer and Henry Jenkins.
  • Blogger- Helped me to express myself and was the home to all my research.
  • SlideShare- Helpful in showing my fellow classmates and updating on my blog about the distribution of Hunger Games.

PLANNING

I FaceTimed a fellow team member in order to ask him various  questions about our locations for filming and about dates in which blog posts were due. FaceTime is an extremely useful technology as Harvey is able to show me on the screen different blog posts relating to my question. FaceTime is spontaneous, free and easily accessible.

PLANNING-

My group and I have also used Whatsapp when communicating, this is extremely helpful and has allowed us to have a group chat. Whatsapp enabled us to collect together a series of information and images for our blog, and planning filming times, dates and things needed. This was an essential technology used as it helps us keep organised and discuss any concerns we may of had regarding the story line or issues regarding filming. We all enjoy contacting each other easily and on one document of which solves any confusion and mass sure everyone is on the same page.

Facebook - Facebook enabled me to make contact with each member of my film opening group when we weren't in class, in the form of a group chat. With each Facebook member (members of our film opening) added in the chat, it allowed me to make contact about future and recent filming, props ideas, filming dates, characters, shot list ideas etc. We also used Facebook regarding creating an engaged audience towards our opening sequence! This was essential during the planning and construction stages of my film opening; making sure deadlines of filming scenes were met as each member was in easy contact for debate. I also used it extensively to collect feedback on my film opening, especially during the construction stages when I was filming scenes having to follow the call sheets and shot lists. I took photos of shoots and short video teaser clips (also posted on Instagram) gaining positive and negative feedback from users who have 'liked' our film opening page. Facebook is a collaborative tool that let us build a photo feed, video blogging and information bank.
